Looking Around and Walking Around the Golf Course

There are three separate modes in a SimGolf game -- Golf Mode, Practice Mode and Walk Mode -- and the operation of the Movement Control varies, depending upon which mode you're in.

In Golf and Practice Mode, the view of the course is seen through the eyes of a camera positioned behind the golfer. The Movement Control moves the camera, shifting the image you see in the Game Window. You can move the camera in any direction, but only for a short distance. You'll notice that can't move too far away from the golfer.

When you switch to Walk Mode, you "step into the screen" and see the course through the eyes of the onscreen golfer. In Walk Mode, the Movement Control moves the onscreen golfer, and the golfer can move anywhere on the course.

Using the Movement Control in View Windows

You can use the Movement Control to shift the camera view in the Landing View and Pin View windows. Click in the window and the Movement Control will jump there. Then use the Movement Control to shift your view in the same manner you would in the Game Window.
